The reason behind Tech Energi’s metal can packaging
It’s important to note that Tech Energi’s metal cans are only designed to resemble drinks cans. Unlike their inspiration, in practice, they are far from the thin, bendy, ring-pull cans that drinks are sold in, but are instead thick, rigid metal containers with fully removable lids. To our knowledge, Tech Energi is the only brand of phone accessories that come in this unique metal can packaging. But why? Here’s your answer:
Tech Energi was developed in 2019. Inspired by the theming of energy drinks, Tech Energi aimed to make an impact as it hit the market, with heavy use of the word ‘revitalize’ in their branding to emphasise an intention to refresh and excite. Much like how an energy drink will give you an immediate boost of energy, Tech Energi aimed to do the same for your device. With a team well-accustomed to the lack of variance among device accessory brands, they understood that developing a luxury-grade range would go nowhere if their products looked near-identical to the existing landscape of cheap low-quality alternatives. Hence, their brand name, alongside their iconic energy-drink-inspired metal cans, was chosen. Their aim was to get noticed first, then prove how far their products succeeded competitors once they had the attention of consumers.
The metal cans aren’t just a marketing novelty, though. Sure, they’re probably the only example in history of a company managing to make phone chargers (of all things) into desirable bedroom shelf trophies, but with products as nice-looking as they are, you’d be forgiven for wanting to keep any risk of scratches at bay (and given how long their cables are reported to last, they’d have plenty of time to pick up a scratch or two if kept rattling around in a cluttered draw for the best part of your life).
Are Tech Energi cans recyclable?
While Tech Energi cans are completely recyclable, as mentioned above, you may not want to be so hasty to throw them away. Tech Energi cans aren’t much like actual drinks cans beyond appearance, but instead, thick and rigid, designed to be both a protective container and display object for your products. Even if you don’t use them to organise your cables and chargers, they can serve plenty of use as generic holders for various bits and pieces, like stationary. Then again, if you really don't want to keep them, you can feel safe knowing that Tech Energi cans can be recycled.
